First brew – Pale Ale Inverloch

 In Our Journey

Our first brew? A Pale Ale, inspired by the crisp, refreshing flavors of our coastal home in Inverloch. Armed with an overconfident recipe and a mildly concerning level of enthusiasm. We dove headfirst into the brewing process. The scene was chaotic, with hops flying, timers buzzing, and a few too many taste tests “for quality control.” At times, it felt like we were orchestrating a kitchen disaster show rather than brewing beer. However, as the aroma of malt and hops filled the air, we knew we were onto something special.

After what felt like an eternity of anticipation, our Pale Ale Inverloch was finally ready. Pouring that first glass was like witnessing a miracle—a golden, bubbly miracle that tasted like hard work, community effort, and just a hint of our local pristine landscapes. The subtle tropical and citrus notes, coupled with its light to medium body and balanced hoppy bitterness, made it an instant favorite.

Sure, there were hiccups along the way (who knew wort could actually boil over?), but our inaugural brew was a success. The taste of our Pale Ale reflected not just our efforts but also the support and feedback from our community of tasters. Now, on to the cleanup. If you thought sanitizing your hands during COVID was annoying, try sanitizing an entire brewhouse! Despite the challenges, every moment was worth it. Our first brew laid the foundation for Shack Bay Brewing’s future, and we couldn’t be more excited about the journey ahead.
